Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started
What is ELINSI and how does it work?
ELINSI is an AI-powered hiring engine for tech companies in the US and Canada. For employers, it takes a job description, analyzes it, matches candidates from our pool, runs automated screening, and delivers a ranked shortlist with pre-screen reports — in hours, not weeks. For candidates, it creates an intelligent profile that gets matched to relevant roles, with optional AI mock interviews and skills verification to boost visibility.
Do I need an ATS (Applicant Tracking System) to use ELINSI?
No. ELINSI is a standalone platform — you don't need any existing HR software or ATS. If you want to integrate with your existing tools, contact us at support@elinsi.com and we'll discuss options.
What markets and regions does ELINSI serve?
ELINSI currently serves the tech hiring market in the United States and Canada. This includes roles in software engineering, product, design, data, DevOps, and adjacent technical disciplines. We're focused on delivering deep quality in this market before expanding further.

How does the fit score work — and what does my score mean?
Fit scores (0–100%) measure how well your profile matches a specific job's requirements across several dimensions: skills match, experience level, tech stack alignment, and role-specific signals. A score of 85%+ is considered a strong match. Scores are always explainable — you can see exactly which factors contributed. Scores are role-specific; a 75% for one role and 95% for another means you're a better fit for the second, not that you're less qualified overall.
How do I improve my profile visibility and score?
The most impactful steps: 1) Complete all profile sections including specific tech skills and tools. 2) Add quantified achievements (e.g., "reduced API response time by 40%"). 3) Verify your skills with our AI-powered verification badges (Pro plan). 4) Complete mock interview sessions to demonstrate communication. 5) Keep your availability status updated. Pro candidates get priority visibility in shortlists.
What happens during automated screening?
When you're shortlisted for a role, ELINSI sends you a set of role-specific screening questions via email and your dashboard. You have 48 hours to respond. Questions typically include: a technical scenario question, a brief background question, and a role-specific situational question. Your responses are scored by AI and summarized for the employer. You'll always be notified of the outcome.
Is the candidate Free plan actually free? What's included?
Yes — completely free, forever, no credit card required. The Free plan includes: dashboard access, resume scanner, job tracker, skill-based matching, and visibility to companies on the platform. The Pro plan ($60/month) adds skills verification badges, AI mock interviews, personalized career advice, and priority visibility in shortlists. Most active job seekers benefit from Pro.
Employers & Companies
How quickly will I get my first shortlist after posting a job?
Initial shortlists are typically delivered within 15 minutes of posting your job description. If your role is highly specialized or targeting a smaller pool, it may take up to a few hours. You'll receive a notification when your shortlist is ready. Shortlists are continuously updated as new matching candidates enter the pool.
Can I customize the screening questions ELINSI sends candidates?
On the Growth plan, you can review and edit the AI-generated screening questions before they're sent. On the Enterprise plan, you can create fully custom question sets and scoring rubrics. The Free Trial uses ELINSI's auto-generated questions only. Customization is available under role settings after your shortlist is generated.
How does the Hiring Brain improve over time for my company?
Every time you approve, pass on, or interview a candidate, ELINSI's Hiring Brain learns your company's specific preferences. After approximately 10 completed hires, shortlist accuracy improves by an average of 40%. The engine learns your tech stack preferences, seniority signals, culture fit patterns, and what "good" looks like for your team — without you needing to configure anything manually.
